چکیده
Abstract Background Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) of patients with atherosclerotic vascular disease (ASCVD) is expected to be lowered by ≥50% and <1.4 mmol/L. Despite the use lipid-lowering therapies, most Chinese failed meet treatment target. Purpose We aimed evaluate potential different statin intensities on LDL-C target attainment among statin-naïve ASCVD patients. Methods retrospectively analyzed who were initiated therapy between January July 2020 from 43 public hospitals or clinics in Hong Kong. Patients divided into high-intensity (HI-S, atorvastatin 40–80 mg, rosuvastatin 20–40 mg), moderate-intensity (MI-S, 10–20 5–10 simvastatin mg) low-intensity (LI-S, 10 groups. With baseline follow-up LDL-C, percentage reduction was calculated distance investigated within Results Of 7,241 (mean age 61.8±12.4 years 64.2% male), 4,451 (61.5%) had coronary artery disease, 109 (1.5%) peripheral 2,879 (39.8%) cerebrovascular disease. HI-S, MI-S LI-S prescribed 20% (n=1,450), 61.1% (n=4,421) 18.9% (n=1,370) patients, respectively. Mean 2.9±1.0 mmol/L mean value 1.9±0.8 median 46.1%, 40.4%, 32.0% MI-S, LI-S, 42.1%, 31.8%, 14.7% achieved only 23.5%, 18.2%, 8.8% reached both One ten require further reach Conclusion In did not guidelines recommended even statin. The aim of the present study was to evaluate Malaysian dyslipidemic patient treatment practices and outcomes. Factors contributing to success in reaching treatment goal were determined. A retrospective review of the records of dyslipidemic patients who attended the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in 2007 was conducted. All the patients were receiving standard recommended doses of statins. Re...
متن کاملStatin therapy in patients with acute coronary syndrome: low-density lipoprotein cholesterol goal attainment and effect of statin potency
BACKGROUND Elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is associated with an increased risk of coronary artery disease. Current guidelines recommend an LDL-C target of <70 mg/dL (<1.8 mmol/L) for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients, and the first-line treatment to lower lipids is statin therapy. Despite current guidelines and the efficacious lipid-lowering agents available, about ha...

متن کاملClinical significance of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in patients with low low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
OBJECTIVES We sought to evaluate the significance of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in the context of low low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). BACKGROUND Earlier studies support an inverse correlation between circulating HDL-C and coronary risk in patients with normal or elevated LDL-C. METHODS This study involved 4,188 patients attending the Palo Alto Veterans Adminis...
